Michigan State Leaders
Maurie was a three sport guy in high school, attended Western Michigan University, where he received his Masters degree in Clinical Behavioral Psychology with an emphasis on health related behavior. He was a four year competitor on the WMU track and field team as a pole-vaulter, then he coached pole-vault for three years at WMU as a graduate assistant, then 22 years at the high school level. Maurie has been married to Maria for 22 years and has two children; Ben and Emily. Maurie has been serving FCA since October of 2005
Rock served aas Athletic Director, Boys' Basketball Coach, and teacher for 16 years at Lansing Christian High School. Coaching Cross Country, his teams earned two MHSAA Cross Country Championship Runner-up spots,while capturing five regional titles. Compiling a 150-53 record coaching basketball earned Rock "Lansing State Journal - Coach of the Year" honors. A graduate of Central Michigan University, Rock earned a BS in Education, then pursued his Masters Degree in Athletic Administration @ Michigan State University. Rock frequently serves a a chapel speaker for professional and collegiate athletic teams including MSU, Grand Valley State University, Central Michigan University, Detroit Lions, and Jacksonville Jaguars. Rock has served FCA since 1989.
Mike was a 3 year starter on the offensive line at Western Michigan University where he had his first enounter with FCA. After receiving his degree in Business and spending a number of years in marketing and sales, he started a golf travel agency that had a good run for 15 years until God called him into the ministry of FCA in th fall of 2010. Mike joined the local leadership board in SW Michigan in 2005 and has been involved as a volunteer and huddle coach since. Mike has been married to Jennifer for 26 years; along with their teenage daughter Madeline, they love to travel, enjoy WMU sports as well as participating athletically whenever possible. Mike is also a high school volleyball coach with a heart to reach out to and mentor other coaches so they may have the impact on their teams that God desires; to help them discove the "why" in what they do as coaches and to coach with a purpose that aligns with how God made them.
